Start of 2011-2012 program!

Hosei University is holding the European Union (EU) Erasmus Mundus Master Program " EuroPhilosophie " (Euro Philosophy) for the year 2011-2012. The program for 2010-2011 was cancelled due to the earthquake, so this marks a return after 2 years. 3 members of teaching staff from EU plus 9 from Japan will give lectures on European philosophy (predominantly German and French philosophy) to students from Europe selected for "EuroPhilosophie" over 3 months from April-June 2012. Japanese students and the general public are welcome to attend lectures along with the students from Europe. By teaching and learning European philosophy here in Japan, the aim of this program is to allow direct contact between present-day European philosophy and Japanese philosophy, and to discover the potential for philosophy. We hope that all those interested in the present state and future directions of philosophy are able to join us.

Also, students of Hosei University Graduate School of Humanities Major in Philosophy will participate in the program, sitting the final examination that will be uniformly marked, and those results will count towards the units necessary for graduation from the Hosei University Graduate School of Humanities.
